Dr. Moisés Enghelberg, DO, MSc, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery and the founder and CEO of The Retina Institute.
He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College – Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at Larkin Community Hospital and the Bay Pines Veterans Affairs Hospital in Florida. He then pursued two fellowships at Loma Linda University Eye Institute: the first in medical diseases of the retina and intraocular inflammation, and the second—a two-year fellowship—in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. He later served at Loma Linda as a staff physician and assistant professor.
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Enghelberg is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to provide compassionate, personalized care to a diverse patient population. He is deeply committed to medical education and has played a key role in training future ophthalmologists and retina surgeons. In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in peer-reviewed research and continues to advance the field through innovation and collaboration with his peers.
